The Gronkowski family is known for its hard-partying ways, driven by volumes of confirmed stories about brother Rob, who is in the midst of an all-time great NFL career with the New England Patriots. Working hard and playing hard is their brand. But it’s a mistake to overlook the intelligence and intentionality of the Gronkowskis. Together with their family, the five Gronkowski brothers function informally like a business, combining their educations, experience and skills to build an empire of businesses.
This month, the Gronks business empire grew yet again with the addition of Mobile Digital Billboard, an outdoor digital mobile advertising company. The state of the art, LED digital billboard truck offers a new and unique solution for advertising, promotions, and brand awareness. The first truck just arrived. “I think we’re going to have 20 trucks in the next few years,” says Gordon Gronkowski, Sr. Mobile Digital Billboard serves the entire Western New York Region.
The Gronk story is quickly becoming an American legend. For full details about the business side of the Gronkowski family, view Fame, Fortune and the Business Side of the Gronkowski Family.
Gordon Sr. was an offensive lineman at Syracuse University in the 1980s and co-founded G&G Fitness Equipment. G&G now has 14 stores and a commercial division. Through brotherly competition and Gordon Sr.’s guidance, his five sons went on to excel in professional sports. Lesser known is how they pushed each other off the field as well. “School always came first,” said Gordon Sr., the father. “Competition happened with grades, too. Who could bring home the highest GPA?”
“Everybody thinks we’re dumb jocks and that’s what I laugh about. Sports teaches you how to be smart and competitive, to lose together and then rebuild and win together,” Gordon Sr. said. “Put that together with school and it’s a deadly package.”
